Why book a local photographer
Venice without the crowds
I live here. In July I start your session at sunrise, when St Mark’s is empty and the light is already right. In November I schedule a later start, with winter light and the occasional morning mist. You get the city, not the queue.
You know the price before you write
Every package has a fixed price and a fixed number of edited photos. No “starting from” surprises — the full price list is right on this page.
Nothing to lose
You pay online to secure your date, and it’s 100% refundable up to 24 hours before the session. If it rains a little, it can be beautiful in photos! In case of heavy rain, we’ll reschedule if possible.

One trip. One chance at the photos.
You get one trip to Venice. The photos either happen or they don’t — and phone self-portraits on a crowded bridge are how most people remember they didn’t. A local photographer knows where the light is at 6:45, which bridge is empty, and where to stop for the photo you’ll actually print.

Your photographer
I’m Osvaldo Di Pietrantonio, a professional photographer living in Venice. I photograph couples, proposals and families who choose Venice as their destination — editorial images, not tourist snapshots. From sunrise at St Mark’s Square to the quiet canals of Dorsoduro, I’ll guide you to the right place at the right time so you can enjoy the city while I take care of the photos.
It’s me behind the camera at every session — and me who replies to your message.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a Venice photographer cost?
Photography sessions in Venice range from €290 to €590 depending on duration and locations. Couple sessions start at €290 (1 hour, 40 edited photos); longer sessions are €420-590 including editing and online gallery delivery. Proposal packages start at €450.
How do we secure our date?
You pay 100% upfront by card and your date is instantly confirmed. It’s fully refundable up to 24 hours before the session.
What happens if it rains?
If it rains a little, it can be beautiful in photos! In case of heavy rain, we’ll reschedule if possible.
What’s the best time for a Venice photoshoot?
Early morning (6.30-9 AM) provides the best light and fewer crowds. I recommend avoiding midday (11 AM-2 PM) for harsh shadows, and I factor weather and seasonal crowd patterns into the schedule I suggest.
What locations are included in Venice photography sessions?
Popular locations include St. Mark’s Square, Doge’s Palace, Bridge of Sighs, quiet canals in Dorsoduro, and hidden gems in Castello. I choose the route with you based on your style, the time of day, and crowd conditions, and I scout it before each session.
Do I need permits for photography in Venice?
For personal photography sessions, no permits are required in public areas. However, certain locations like St. Mark’s Square interior or private venues may have restrictions. I handle all location research and make sure everything complies with local regulations.
How quickly will I receive my photos?
Preview photos within 48 hours, and the full edited high-resolution gallery in 5 business days via private online link. Express delivery of the entire gallery in 24 hours is available as an extra.
Do you offer photography during Venice Carnival?
Yes! Venice Carnival photography is available with specialized packages for costume portraits, mask photography, and event documentation. Advance booking required (60+ days) due to high demand. Carnival sessions start at €290/hour.
